Description:
Rimless / Braceless Aquariums are designed without the bracing as is customary on standard aquariums.
Due to this Rimless / Braceless Aquariums have to be constructed out of thicker glass than would usually be necessary as the water pressure exerted on the panels is obviously higher.
The majority of Rimless / Braceless aquariums are manufactured using Optiwhite(TM) glass, in some cases people only require the front panel in other cases it may be the whole aquarium, or something in between.
Who would use a Rimless / Braceless Aquarium?
Anybody though the majority of people that enquire are either looking at planted aquariums or marine aquariums.
Why use Optiwhite(TM) glass?
The main reason for using Optiwhite(TM) glass is due to the fact that it allows more light to penetrate and thus giving you the brilliance of colour that you expect to get from the fish / plants.
Poseidon's Palace Motto "Building YOUR aquarium the way YOU want it", means exactly that.
All aquariums are hand crafted to exacting requirements using traditional manufacturing techniques and using Top Quality HA6 Aquarium Sealant.
If you design you own aquarium using the RIMLESS / BRACELESS AQUARIUM BUILDER© software and we deem that it would be safer in a thicker glass then we would feel obliged to inform you of this.
I.E. A 1800x400x500 with a Safety factor (S.F.) of 4 could be manufactured theoretically from 8mm glass (£219 complete Optiwhite Max S.F 5.5) but I don't think anyone really would simply because the pressure in the centre at the top of the aquarium would probably cause the glass to bow to such an extent it would be on the verge of breaking.
Therefore the ideal thickness Poseidons Palace would offer would be 10mm (£256 complete Optiwhite Max S.F 8.5) add that to the price difference of less than £40 for an aquarium that is 3 times safer it's a no brainer.
The decision as to whether to follow this warning would ultimately be yours though.
